FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything about plans, data, apps and how TeamLayer replaces Slack and Jira in one tool.

Is there a free plan?
No. Every plan is paid, but you start with a 7-day trial. You can cancel anytime before it ends and you will not be charged.
What is the subdomain for?
Your team gets its own address, like your-team.teamlayer.io. It is your private space: your data, your members, your settings.
How is billing calculated?
Standard is $25 net per month for up to 10 people, Pro is $50 for up to 20. From 21 people Scale adds $2.50 per person, and every 15th person is free. Above 100 people we set up an Enterprise plan individually.
Can I move from Slack and Jira?
That is the point. Chat and tasks live in one app, so you can retire both and stop paying two subscriptions.
Is my data isolated from other teams?
Yes. Each team runs on its own database. Enterprise can have a fully dedicated instance - including the country where the server and the data live.
Can I change plans later?
Yes - move between Standard, Pro and Enterprise anytime as your team grows.
Is there a desktop or mobile app?
Yes. There is a Windows desktop app, and the web app installs as a PWA on any device. A mobile app with push notifications is available as well. Everything stays in sync with the browser version.
Does TeamLayer work offline?
Yes. The app keeps a local copy of your channels, messages and tasks. You can read and write while offline - outgoing messages queue up and send automatically when you are back online.
Can calls be recorded and who can see the recordings?
Yes, calls can be recorded. Access to a recording is controlled, every access is logged, and there is a formal deletion request flow - useful for GDPR compliance.
How is my data protected?
Each team runs on its own isolated database - your data is never mixed with other teams. Roles (owner, admin, member) control what people can do, and membership is enforced on every request.
What are private tasks?
A private task is visible only to you. You can even add private subtasks under someone else's task - plan your own work under a shared task without adding noise for anyone else. Competitors do not have this.
Is there an API?
Yes. Every workspace can issue API keys and create tasks, add comments and change task statuses from external systems - CI, forms, scripts.
What languages does TeamLayer speak?
The app ships in English and Polish; the website is also available in German, Spanish and French. Each user picks their own language.
